CiƟzens Police Academy (CPA)
The Shaker Heights Citizens Police Academy strengthens
trust and understanding between residents and the
Shaker Heights Police Department by providing
participants with direct insight into police operations,
decision-making, and public safety challenges. Through
structured instruction and hands-on engagement,
graduates gain a practical understanding of law
enforcement and serve as informed ambassadors within
the community.
In 2025, All CPA graduates transitioned to Citizens Police
Association members and applied their knowledge to
meaningful service by supporting training, administrative
functions, community events, and officer development.
Their contributions enhanced operational capacity and
community engagement, demonstrating the value of
informed civic participation in advancing public safety
across Shaker Heights.
