               The Shaker Heights Police Department maintains a long-standing commitment to professional
               excellence, accountability, and community focused policing. Through na onal and state
               accredita on, con nuous policy updates, and partnerships with professional organiza ons, the
               Department ensures its prac ces meet the highest standards.

               CALEA AccreditaƟon


                                           Accredited since 1989, making SHPD one of the longest-tenured
                                            agencies in Cuyahoga County
                                           Completed Year 4 Web Based Assessment and three-day on-site review
                                            in December 2025
                                           Scheduled to receive 11th CALEA Accreditation in March 2026
                                           Only 3-4% of law enforcement agencies hold CALEA Accreditation
                                           Continuous 4-year compliance cycle: annual remote reviews and
                                            comprehensive on-site assessment in Year 4


               Impact: Demonstrates commitment to community service, professional standards, officer
               performance, and accountability.
