               By the numbers




               In 2025, the Shaker Heights Police Department achieved a significant milestone by recording the
               lowest Part I crime total since the Department began standardized crime reporƟng in 1960.
               This achievement reflects sustained progress and is the result of data-driven policing strategies,
               proac ve patrol deployment, effec ve inves ga ve follow-up, and strong collabora on with
               community partners. Through targeted crime analysis, strategic use of technology, and a
               con nued emphasis on preven on and accountability, the Department reduced serious crime
               while maintaining high standards of service and public trust. This milestone underscores the
               Department’s long-term commitment to public safety and highlights the effec veness of
               coordinated efforts across all bureaus to protect the quality of life for Shaker Heights residents,
