               2025 Departmental Results


                   Superior Response & Service Delivery


                                                                               Successfully completed the
                                                                             Year 4 CALEA Web-Based
                                                                             Assessment, including a three-
                                                                             day on-site review by a CALEA
                                                                             Assessor in December. The
                                                                             Department passed the
                                                                             assessment and is scheduled to
                                                                             receive its 11th CALEA
                                                                             Accreditation in March 2026.
                                                                               Advanced efforts to make
                                                                             select police reports available
                                                                             online, improving service
                                                                             efficiency and turnaround times.
                         Continued distribution of steering wheel locks to Kia and Hyundai owners as part of
                          auto-theft prevention efforts.
                         Collaborated with Fire and Police partners to conduct active threat tabletop
                          exercises and develop safety plans for the Van Aken District, Hathaway Brown
                          School, and Laurel School.
                         Contributed to achieving a record-low Part I crime total of 227 in 2025.
                         Through the First CALL Program, facilitated more than 100 referrals to community
                          agencies for individuals in need of services or resources.
                         Received the AAA Platinum Award for excellence in traffic safety and control for the
                          third consecutive year.
                         Continued to operate at or under budget, with regular budget review discussions
                          among the Chief and Command Staff.
                         Maintained use of a contracted grant writer to identify and secure external funding
                          opportunities.
                         Leveraged OPOTA CPT reimbursements to bring in high quality instructors for
                          approved training curricula, reducing training costs to the Department.
                         Successfully hosted the City’s 3rd Annual Night Out Event.
                         Participated in multiple community and recreational events throughout the city,
                          strengthening engagement and visibility.
                         Partnered with the Communications and Marketing Department to support the
                          development and launch of the Community Resource Center in the Van Aken
                          District with a public, ribbon cutting ceremony.
                         Identified and assigned personnel based on skillset and tenure to assist the CALEA
                          Manager in gathering and maintaining proofs of compliance across accreditation
                          standards.
